This is my second year teaching at Spring Lake, but I’m not new to west Michigan. I grew up in Ludington, Michigan and went to Ludington high school. I then attended Western Michigan University where I studied mathematics and physics. I have always enjoyed math, science and working with people so teaching was a natural career choice for me. After college I moved to Lansing, Michigan and taught at a middle school in the Lansing School District for four years. There I mostly taught 7th grade math classes and assisted with the basketball program. When I’m not planning for my classes or working on my masters program at Michigan State University, I like to stay active. I am an avid fly fisherman and fish Michigan rivers year round. I also enjoy many other outdoor activities such as camping, hiking and kayaking.
